Cook Like A Chief With A Hand Crafted Gift, Just For Him…or Her

A good knife is an invaluable piece of kitchen equipment, and it’s what many great chefs credit as their secret weapon. And for well-known chefs like Sean Brock, Travis Grimes, Michael Anthony, Matt Bolus, Linton Hopkins, and Craig Deihl, their secret weapon lay in a Middleton Made Knife.

True hand-made knives in America are a rarity, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in the small rural town of Saint Stephen, South Carolina, the home of Middleton Made Knives where Craftsman and Bladesmith Quintin Middleton has been hand-making beautiful, bespoke high-carbon steel knives designed specifically for chefs since 2010.

Middleton creates each knife based on a personal conversation, asking customers questions about the size of their hand, how tall they are, what they need the knife to do, as well as color and design preferences. Every part and every process is done by hand, from designing the templates to grinding the edges to the beautiful signature wood handles, crafted in a slightly curvy shape, “reminiscent of a Coke bottle,” Quintin says.

In addition to culinary knives, Middleton Made Knives makes oyster shuckers and “brew knives” – which is a knife that operates dually as an oyster shucker and a beer opener. Every item at Middleton Made Knives is custom handmade from start to finish by Quintin Middleton himself, which is why most orders take around two weeks for production.
