Dr. Onir Spiegel On The Beauty Of Not Chasing Cosmetic Trends

Women’s History Month Feature

PaSH Magazine is celebrating Women’s History Month with a Q&A style mini-series highlighting women from many different industries making an impact in the world, their communities and for themselves. In this Q&A we will spend time with Dr. Onir.

Meet Dr. Onir  Spiegel

Many discerning medical professionals choose Dr. Onir Spiegel for their own treatments (maybe even your own doctors!). Known for her aesthetic eye, caring approach, and unequaled results, Dr. Onir Spiegel has over fifteen years of experience in non-surgical facial aesthetics.

She treats some of society’s most recognizable faces, who regularly fly in from Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and around the world to see her. Patients and peers alike rave about her enthusiastic approach to facial rejuvenation.

What inspired you to enter the beauty industry, and what does it mean to you personally?

My path into aesthetics started with a fascination with facial anatomy and how small changes in structure can influence the way someone looks and feels. I’ve always been drawn to the idea that medicine can be both scientific and artistic, and aesthetic medicine sits right at that intersection.

At The Spiegel Center, I focus on injectable treatments to enhance natural features rather than dramatically changing them. What I love about this work is how subtle the results can be while still making a meaningful difference for patients. When someone looks refreshed, balanced, and still completely like themselves, that’s when I know we’ve done it right.

Personally, it’s rewarding to help people feel more comfortable in their own skin. When someone looks in the mirror and sees a younger refreshed version of themselves, that’s the most satisfying part of what I do.

How do you balance helping clients feel beautiful while resisting unrealistic beauty standards?

Education and honesty are a big part of that balance. Social media and filters have created a lot of unrealistic expectations about what faces should look like, but real beauty is much more individual than that.

At The Spiegel Center, we focus on facial harmony and natural-looking results. When patients come in for Botox, filler, or facial balancing treatments, the goal is never to chase trends. It’s about enhancing their own structure in a way that looks effortless.

Sometimes that actually means doing less. Preserving expression and movement is important, and the most beautiful outcomes are usually the ones that look completely natural.

Can you share a moment when you realized confidence and self-expression were more important than perfection?

Early in my career I started noticing that the patients who carried themselves with the most confidence weren’t necessarily the ones with the most “perfect” features. What they had instead was comfort in their own skin.

That realization changed how I approached aesthetics. The goal isn’t to create a flawless face—it’s to support someone’s natural features in a way that feels authentic to them. Aesthetic treatments work best when they highlight personality rather than erase it.

Confidence and self-expression will always be more compelling than perfection.

What advice do you give women who struggle to embrace their natural features in a high-pressure beauty culture?

Beauty trends change constantly, but facial balance and healthy skin never go out of style. I usually encourage patients to focus less on comparing themselves to what they see online and more on what actually suits their face.

Aesthetic treatments should feel like refinement, not reinvention. Sometimes that means softening expression lines with Botox, improving skin quality, or creating subtle balance between facial features.

There’s also a simple truth I see every day in clinic: if you look good, you feel good. Small improvements that make someone feel refreshed can have a big impact on how they carry themselves.

What is one beauty ritual that always makes you feel grounded, confident, or joyful?

Consistency in the basics. Skincare, hydration, and taking a few quiet minutes at the start of the day go a long way.

In aesthetics we talk a lot about treatments, but the foundation is always skin health. A simple, consistent routine can make a huge difference over time, and it’s something that doesn’t require anything complicated.

Sometimes the most effective rituals are the simplest ones.

At The Spiegel Center, we focus on subtle improvements that age well over time. When injectable treatments are done properly, they should enhance someone’s natural features rather than draw attention to the treatment itself.

In your opinion, what’s a common misconception about what it takes to feel “beautiful” in today’s world?

One misconception is that beauty requires constant change or a long list of treatments. In reality, the best aesthetic results usually come from restraint and thoughtful planning.

Feeling beautiful doesn’t come from doing more. It often comes from doing the right things in moderation.

What lessons about confidence or self-care have you learned from clients, colleagues, or mentors?

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that confidence rarely comes from a single treatment or procedure. It usually comes from a combination of things—taking care of yourself, feeling healthy, and investing time in your wellbeing.

Working with patients also teaches you that self-care looks different for everyone. For some people it’s skincare or aesthetic treatments. For others it’s exercise, rest, or simply carving out time for themselves.

The common thread is giving yourself permission to prioritize your wellbeing.

On a lighter note—what beauty tip or ritual makes you feel unstoppable, even on your busiest days?

On busy clinic days, it’s really about energy and posture. Standing tall, keeping good posture, and taking a moment to reset between patients makes a noticeable difference.

Professionally, I also see how small aesthetic treatments can help people feel more polished and refreshed. Something as simple as smoothing expression lines or relaxing the jaw with Masseter Botox can subtly improve facial balance.

Those small refinements often translate into confidence, and confidence tends to show up long before anyone notices anything else.
