If your business had a theme song, what would it be and why?

Recently, it has been “Hit Different” by Lyre. It’s your quintessential girl boss bop that captures what it means to grow and transform on your spiritual journey. It talks about that magnetic energy you radiate when you begin to step into your own power and move in a way that’s authentically you. When you do that, suddenly, your energy starts to hit different. The Mystic Rainn audience has also expressed that they love that song when I play it during my YouTube streams.

A crystal ball because I’m the modern mystic handing out unsolicited psychic pep talks, sparkles to sprinkle in the magic of spirituality, and the tongue-out emoji because not everything needs to be so serious.

What’s the craziest idea you’ve ever had for your business that worked?

I had this idea to upload a tarot learning course to YouTube. I didn’t want money for the content; I just wanted to make it accessible. I thought I was performing a public service and that maybe I’d pick up a few extra clients. Next thing you know, I had a brand deal with YouTube and a book deal. Now I’m a published author and am writing my next book! I’m still in awe.

What’s one piece of advice you wish you could give your younger self before starting this journey?

Hold Your Position.

When you’re on to something, thinking outside of the box, and being innovative, people will start to seed doubt into what you’re doing. They will begin to question you, challenge you, or even tell you that you’re wrong or can’t do it. When you start to feel resistance and opposition, it’s because you’re usually on the cusp of something big. Don’t give up on your dreams due to the opinions of people who gave up on their dreams before they left high school. Hold your position.

If your business could have its reality show, what would it be called, and what would it be about?

It would be something like “Life of the Modem Mystic.” Part of the caveat of being a spiritual teacher is that I must live what I teach, or I wouldn’t have the ability to teach it. It would give an inside look into what my transformation process actually looks like and how I find the strength to repeatedly build myself back up. Sometimes I think I crash out hard enough to make for good TV. It would also take you through my life as an author and creator, showing heart –to-heart moments with clients, motivational talks, etc.

What’s one misconception people have about your industry that drives you crazy?

That spirituality is “woo-woo” and that it can’t be fun. Spirituality is just the process of remembering the fiery force you’ve always been. Once you remember that, life gets fun again. It’s energy and mindset work. Transform those things, and you transform your life.

Also, not all spiritual teachers have blonde hair, talk in sing-song voices, and walk around in flowing clothes. Some are like me…regular.

In a world full of trends, how do you keep your business authentic and true to your vision?

I don’t follow trends mostly because I’m not good at keeping up with them. I prefer to stay grounded in my mission and the understanding that I’m here to create an impact. I focus on my own growth, share from my heart, and do what feels right.

How do you handle competition, and what sets your business apart from others in your field?

What competition? I don’t have the interest or the time to see competition—I see allies. There is, has always been, and will always be enough space for all of us. My space already has my name written on it, just like your space already has your name written on it. My job is to kill it in my lane and mind my business about what’s happening in yours.

What sets my business apart is that I fuse spirituality with empowerment in a way that’s fun, authentic, and REAL. People take themselves and spirituality so seriously. All of that seriousness bores me. Like I get it. We’re all on this healing journey.  But come on, friend. Put your big girl panties on and let’s hit the outlets on Saturday, because ain’t nobody got time to be balled up on the floor crying. I’m about turning pain into power, and then having it pay you.
