Let’s take an inside look at how Kiyonna, a plus-size fashion brand, was born.
The Lightbulb Moment
In 1996, Kim Camarella-Khanbeigi was studying entrepreneurship at University of Southern California. Although she desired entrepreneurship , Kim was not committed to an industry. All this was changed by a vacation with one of her best girlfriends, whom wore label-less clothes. Inspired by her friends desire to take fashion into her own hands by not settling for big box retailers and their lack of selection, Kiyonna was born.
Fast forward to today, Kiyonna is located in over 100 stores nationwide and has partnered with retailers like Amazon and Lane Bryant and has a Flagship retail location, the Upstairs Boutique, in Anaheim.
