Siobhan is a woman worth exploring. As a complex and dynamic character in HBO’s award winning show, “Succession”. Shiv, short for Siobhan, portrayed by Sarah Snook, is constantly navigating power struggles within her family’s media empire as well as her romantic relationships. Sometimes blurring the lines of business vs pleasure.
Navigating business, romance and family is often difficult in any setting, adding the pressures of a multi-billion dollar empire adds an additional layer of complexity.
It is interesting to watch Siobhan establish her footing within a male-dominated industry. Mostly, Shiv is witty, cool, collected and unbothered. Often, when moments of recognition, status and decision arise, it seems that Shiv has taken the back seat.
There are times when Shiv stays silent, holding her best cards close to her chest. From the look in her eyes it is clear that something is up her sleeves. The writing is sharp and witty, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns , so there is no doubt that Shiv will right any wrong she has been faced with.
Succession has many characters worth watching, but Shiv is definitely a woman worth exploring. Do you identify with Shiv, her position and her way of navigating her career, life and family?
