Renae Williams is the founder and CEO of CoCoBella Natural. CoCoBella Natural is a natural hair care line that encourages women to love and take care of their hair! When Renae started her hair care community, or her “tribe”, she could have never imagined leaving her corporate job and starting a business. Nor could she have imagined that a hair care community could turn into a successful business.
The Big Chop
Renae’s big chop was in 2012. A big chop is when a person cuts off all the processed/chemically treated hair and is left with only hair that is untreated, uncolored or unprocessed aka how it grows from the scalp. It was then that Renae realized the importance of community.
“My main goal is to help women un-learn some of the negative stereotypes surrounding natural hair; to dismiss what society has taught us about our hair. To refuse to believe that it is ugly, unkept, and unprofessional. I want them to realize the beauty in their hair and understand how uniquely different and beautiful it is from anyone else.

Connecting The Dots
After building and engaging with her tribe, Renae realized that her voice and opinion mattered. Any product that Renae used during her video tutorials , her tribe would flock towards and purchase. It was moments like those that Renae realized it would be beneficial to start her own natural hair care product line. And just like that a hair care community was turned into a business and CoCoBella Natural was born!
Growth and Expansion
A hair care community turned successful business does not come without hard work, research and capital! Renae is proud to say that all of the funding for CoCoBella Natural has been contributed by her. She did not crowd source, take out loans or require a business partner to bring her hair care business to life.
